Denture Care in Stoney Creek
As part of your suggested denture care routine, we recommend considering the following general practices:
-
Remove dentures every night and soak in a denture cleaning solution.
-
Brush dentures daily with a clean toothbrush (no toothpaste) under lukewarm water to remove debris and prevent plaque build-up.
-
Brush over top of towel or water-filled sink to avoid fractures if dropped.
-
Handle your dentures carefully and store them in water when not wearing them to prevent distortion and brittleness.
-
Remove and rinse your dentures after eating.
Most importantly, we recommend scheduling an annual examination to ensure long-term comfort and functionality. During your annual exam, we’ll evaluate the condition of your dentures and general oral health. We’ll assess the fit and function, examine the soft tissues of your mouth, and check for any abnormalities, signs of stress, or damage. If needed, we can perform adjustments, relines/rebases, or repairs to ensure your dentures remain in proper working order.
While you’re here, consider making an appointment with our in-house dental hygienist for a cleaning of your natural teeth and implant abutments.
By prioritizing denture care, you can extend the lifespan of your dentures and enjoy a comfortable, confident smile for years to come.
